Remote, sparsely populated and almost unexplored, the many islands of the Seychelles offer the perfect setting for making Robinson Crusoe dreams come true. The Seychelles are best explored by ship: every bay, every island surprises with spectacular wildlife and paradisiacal landscapes.

Entering paradise: the Inner Islands

A cruise to the Inner Islands of the Seychelles is an ideal way to discover the archipelago’s varied landscapes and cultural highlights. Mahé, the largest island, is known for its lively capital Victoria, cultural sites, hiking trails and enchanting beaches such as Beau Vallon. Praslin tempts with the Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, and beaches such as Anse Lazio. With Anse Source d’Argent, La Digue offers one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, framed by iconic granite boulders.

Other remarkable islands are Curieuse, famous for its giant tortoises, Cousin with its bird sanctuary, and Silhouette, which delights with untouched forests and species-rich reefs. This is where the Seychelles palm, the coco de mer, grows with its enormous nuts. Length of trip: 7 to 12 days; cruise operators include Ponant, Dream Yachts, Silhouette Cruises, Sunsail and Galatea.

Deep into the wild: the Outer Islands

These untouched islands are less developed and offer an authentic, natural experience. Aldabra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest raised coral atoll in the world and is home to a huge population of giant tortoises as well as a wide variety of marine life and bird species. The Amirante Islands and Desroches are known for their rich underwater world and offer first-class diving and fishing.

The islands of Alphonse, Astove and Cosmoledo are true gems, known for spectacular lagoons and sandbanks that make them a mecca for fly-fishing and diving adventures. A cruise to these remote islands offers an exclusive and breathtaking travel experience, far from the bustle of the inhabited areas.

Nonstop to the dream islands with Edelweiss
