At the Koenigshof, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Munich, I spend a weekend that pairs Munich’s energy with surprising calm — the house is a genuine wellness oasis in the middle of the city.
When I arrive at Stachus, Munich is as lively as ever. Which makes the moment I step into the Koenigshof all the more striking: outside the urban bustle, inside immediate quiet, clarity and style.
The house feels modern, international — and that fits a weekend trip perfectly. Everything is designed so you can arrive, breathe out deeply and still stay right in the middle of things.

The hotel quickly becomes a meeting point in itself. At the Greta Oto on the roof I sit with a drink and a view across the city, try creative sharing plates and let the evening simply flow. The mood is relaxed and lively at once — a place where you happily stay longer.
The lounges too — The Gold and The Green — have their own rhythm: sometimes elegant with a view, sometimes cosy with finely reinterpreted classics.

My personal highlight, though, is the retreat afterwards. The private spa feels like a small world of its own: pool, sauna, quiet — and above it all the view across Munich’s rooftops. It is precisely this contrast that makes it special. A wellness oasis you would hardly expect up here.
After a few hours between city and spa that rare feeling sets in: inspired and completely relaxed at the same time. Munich itself shows up open, varied and surprisingly light this weekend — with its scene, its culture and short distances.

And right in the middle of it lies this hotel that can do both: energy and slowing down. What stays with me in the end is above all one thing: the urge to come back. To the Koenigshof in Munich.
